Property tax reform!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! There has been an overwhelming response to my recent letter on the Las Vegas Review Journal Opinion page http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2004/Dec-05-Sun-2004/opinion/25323565.html

Two groups will be helping with the effort to pass a Nevada style Prop 13.

  1. We the People Nevada at http://www.wethepeoplenevada.org
  2. Nevadans for a Property tax cap at http://www.saveyourhomes.org

The Bill Draft Request is BDR C-212. I will introduce it as a Bill after our opening day February 7, 2005. At that time I will send you all a copy of the finished bill that should become our ballot initiative. Please ask your legislators - Senators and Assemblymen - to support this bill. This measure, if passed by the legislature, will automatically place it on the 2006 ballot.

If it is not passed, then we will begin the signature gathering process on September 1, 2005. All the signatures must then be submitted by June 20, 2006 to place it on the 2006 ballot. I will need letters to the editor, letters to legislators, etc., as this issue begins to develop. You will be hearing from me and the above organizations on how you can help.

Thank you so much for all you are doing. Please send this e-mail on to your friends and family. The more people who know what we are doing the better.

Fond regards,
Sharron Angle

P.S. I am restricted by law from fundraising from January 7 to July 7. If you would like to contribute to a fund for our Prop 13 for Nevada efforts please send your donations to

We The People Nevada
PO Box 33331
Reno, NV 89533.

We will need money for a media campaign - TV, radio, bill boards, signs and newspaper ads; and for a direct mail campaign and distribution for the petitions statewide.

Thank you so much for your help and support.
