Sun City Anthem Community Service Club meeting.
March 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m.

Living “Well” with Disabilities, a support group sponsored by Community Service Club, will have our resident, Winnie Meyer, with a specialty in psychiatry, speak on “Geriatric Depression.”  Her presentation will be geared to the elderly and the physically challenged. Dr. Meyer has a very interesting background and is co-author of a book devoted to the disabled.

This meeting is open to the Sun City Anthem community. Please plan to attend and bring a friend or neighbor. We will have door prizes. Don’t miss this one!

Bingo Comes to Anthem to raise funds for
The Minuteman Foundation, Inc.

Mark your calendar for March 12th for an exciting night of Bingo at the Anthem Center. Join your friends to share an evening of fun, profit, prizes, and food for a great cause. The theme is green for St. Patrick's Day and the money you may win at the Bingo table. This fun event is sponsored by your friends at The Minuteman Foundation & the Community Service Club for the benefit of seniors.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and play starts at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Tickets cost $20 per person for 20 games & can be purchased from Judy Early (361-8373) or Denny Lesterson (614-3916) or any Trustee of

Sun City Anthem Choraliers

Anthem Choraliers welcomes all singers to their groups and especially need more soprano singers for their concert entitled Americana, on Wed, April 23rd. Rehearsals are 9-11, Mondays, on stage in the Delaware Room. It is fun. You will be welcome with open arms.

The Minuteman Foundation is the organization which provides the funding needed to support the activities of the Community Service Club. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charity.


Volunteers of the COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB provide free assistance to Sun City Anthem residents. The services included are:

Transportation: To the local market or your medical provider.

Equipment: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical equipment.

Home Maintenance: Assistance with minor home maintenance chores such as: cleaning or replacing overhead air filters, replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors, or changing overhead light bulbs.

Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors. Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.

Support Groups: CSC sponsors several support groups to assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. These groups are:

  • Living “Well” with Disabilities (physical mobility)
    • 2nd Tuesday, 1—2:30 p.m., Anthem Center
  • Alzheimer’s Caregivers
    • 3rd Monday, 6:30—8:30 p.m., Wellness Center
  • Bereavement (non denominational) Wellness Center
    • 1st Saturday, 4—5:30 p.m.
    • 2nd Wednesday, 4:30—6:00 p.m.
    • 3rd Tuesday, 7—8:30 p.m.
    • 4th Wednesday, 4:30—6:00 p.m.
  • One-on-one guidance through Jewish bereavement protocol Call 614-5862 for information
  • Friends of Bill W. (for recovering alcoholics)
    • Every Monday, 7:00 p.m., Anthem Center
  • Home Caregivers (for those caring for a loved one at home)
    • 3rd Monday, 1:30—2:30 p.m., Anthem Center
