Sun City Anthem
Weep Screeds?

After reading about the legal confrontation between Del Webb and some homeowners at Sun City Summerlin, you have asked many times whether our homes have the weep screeds that were allegedly missing in Summerlin.

Do our homes in Sun City Anthem have weep screeds? Allison Copening, Director of Public Affairs, Pulte Home/Del Webb states in a message to Favil West, SCA Board Member,

"You can also encourage residents to attend the Customer Relations Maintenance Seminar on May 30 at 9:00am at the Anthem Center. The topic that day does not deal with weep screeds but our folks will be able to answer questions. All of the homes in Sun City Anthem have weep screeds."

Pay for an inspection? Nah! Do It Yourself! Simply look around the foundation of your home for the edge of the weep screed. Only the edge of the metal will be visible.

What does one look like? The University of California Santa Cruz has posted diagram of a typical installation on their web site. It is a pdf.  Click on this link: http://ppc.ucsc.edu/standards/details/07000/07.6-21.pdf

All Sun City residents are welcome.

President, Sun City Anthem History Club

A note from Sharron Angle.

Dear Chuck,

Please ask the recipients of the
Anthem Compendium to e-mail the following list of legislators before Friday May 20 and ask them to vote "no" on two bills.

The first e-mail list is to the Senators
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/73rd/Legislators/Senators/slist.cfm

AJR5:
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/73rd/Reports/history.cfm?DocumentType=6&BillNo=5
which raises the threshold from 10% to 15% the number of signatures required to qualify a measure for the ballot.

The second e-mail list is to the Assemblymen http://www.leg.state.nv.us/73rd/Legislators/Assembly/alist.cfm

SB 224
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/73rd/Reports/history.cfm?DocumentType=2&BillNo=224
which requires any groups wishing to help with petitions to make declarations and filings. Both of these bills could hinder our attempts to secure the signatures we need to place our Angle Property Tax Restraint (Nevada Style Prop 13) on the ballot.

The messages should be personal and respectful: "Dear Assemblywoman Smith" They should be short and specific: "Please vote "no" on SB 224" They should and include your full name and address.

If you want to read the bill and give a brief one sentence detail about why they should vote "no", that is great but not necessary.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

Sharron
