Partial relief for commuters

Green Valley Parkway connector is now open. Going down Eastern from here you take a right at the second stoplight—the Sinclair Station. It will take you to the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Horizon Ridge Drive. It eliminates all the construction on Horizon Ridge Parkway. It is a divided road—two lanes in both directions.

Sun City Anthem Board Member update!

I have been informed by Senator Reid that the House of Representatives, by voice vote, at 3:35 p.m., May 23rd, passed the legislation providing the site “South of Sloan” for the new heliport. Political support for this legislation came from Commissioner Bruce Woodbury, Mayor Jim Gibson, the Henderson City Council and staff. The power came from you. We are slow in reporting this as we have been a bit busy completing the transition of our bank accounts, and other issues.

You, the residents of Sun City Anthem are to be commended for the manner in which you respond to issues. With exception of the same few naysayers; you are courteous, thoughtful, respectful, and help us make decisions based on solid logic. Remarks are still being made among the politicians about the tremendous turnout of Sun City Anthem residents on the heliport issue and the professional manner in which you responded at the meeting.

Tuesday, 24 May, 2005, the City Council unanimously approved the Master Plan for the Focus Properties project to the west of us. I am happy to report that the new roadways we have been working to obtain over these past 3 years will be among the first construction projects undertaken. We should see these roadways completed by the winter of next year. While there will be some inconvenience as there always is with construction, at the end of the day this will be good for SCA as it will enhance the value of our homes. Remember, we will always be the age restricted “resort on the hill.”

Wendy Linow has joined Del Webb Management Company as the Community Manager for Sun City Anthem. She has a great background in community management. Try to make it a point of giving her a big welcome.

The election results were made public at Thursday’s Board meeting. They are available here:
http://www.anthemwebs.com/Documents/anthem_compendium050526.htm

As we move forward in a transitioned community, please keep in mind the one thing that has made Sun City Anthem special and our efforts a success, and that is, “unity of purpose, and unity of action.

Thanks for your support of our community.

Changes at Trumpets!

Dear Fellow Residents:

Have you visited Trumpets restaurant lately?

John D’Agostino, the new Trumpets manager, is following through on his commitment to offer our members the type of dining experience they have requested: good food and friendly service at an affordable price.

The results are obvious to anyone who visits Trumpets for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is busier than it has been in a long time, as our members discover the $6.95 members-only lunches served Monday through Saturday and the $12.95 members-only dinners, which include entrée, vegetables and choice of soup or salad, served Monday through Friday. The menu for these special lunches and dinners, offering several choices each day, is rotated throughout the week.

In addition, the Casual Fare menu, offering numerous choices at moderate prices, is once again being offered.

The picture is completed with the welcome return of white-tablecloth dining, giving us the combination of upgraded ambience with reasonable prices.

If you haven’t been to Trumpets lately, give it a try. And when you do, John D’Agostino wants to know if you enjoyed your experience and if there is anything he can do to make it better.

Trumpets is becoming what we residents have always hoped it would be, and your patronage, comments and suggestions will help assure that additional improvements will be seen in the coming weeks and months.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 997 members who placed their trust in my candidacy for the SCA Board of Directors. I will be diligent in my efforts to represent the entire community with the goal of improving everyone's quality of life while living at Sun City Anthem. I believe strongly in an open door policy between elected officials and the residents. I will make myself available to the entire community in assisting residents with their concerns.

Regards,

Bob Sansing
