City of Henderson
Citizens Traffic Advisory Board meeting re: Speed Limits
September 15, 2005 at 6:00 p.m.
Anthem Center — Hanneman Hall
Representatives from the Sun City Anthem Board
requested that the City of Henderson reduce the speed limit on
Anthem Parkway and Sun City Anthem Drive ('Anthem Loop') from 45
mph to 35 mph.
It was stated that the reduction was necessary due to a higher
number of elderly drivers, improved safety for egress from
adjacent subdivisions, an anticipated reduction in accidents, and
other considerations. The City's Citizens Traffic Advisory Board (CTAB)
deliberated the issue earlier this spring at a public hearing and
voted to lower the speed.
Based on the limited attendance at the meeting, City staff was
concerned that not all residents would be in favor of the reduced
speed once it was posted and therefore, proposed a 90-day trial
period which began May 2, 2005. The City will forward the speed
limit issue along with a compilation of the survey results and
comments received, back to the CTAB for evaluation. The CTAB
meeting is open to the public. |

a list of the current eForms:
