Anthem "Forest" Desecration
Resident's Viewpoint
I feel we could be doing ourselves an injustice
by pointing at everyone as if they are the guilty party. A couple
of rules of law enforcement are: when all else fails, look for the
simple answer & follow the money trail. Using that logic, it would
appear that the theories about residents cutting down the trees to
keep their view, joggers are doing it while running around the
block, fake workers are coming here and working on our
landscaping, etc. are still possible — but not probable. What
needs to be looked at is the simple answer on how it could be done
and money trail path. My proposed theory is that the person
selling us the replacement trees has a motive to keep the process
going. And that if that person has a friend or relative working on
our current landscaping crew — it would appear to be very easy for
the process to continue undetected for some time. Restating the
obvious, someone will continue making money while we are accusing
our neighbors. We need to look into where we purchase our plants
and the possibility of finding a new source. The police are very
limited in doing background checks on the landscapers – due to
many of them being illegal. (I am aware that may not be a
politically correct statement — but I am certain it is true.)
Therefore, someone needs to look into changing the landscaping
contract and putting in a stipulation that the new contractor
cannot use any of the previous workers. (Again I am not
politically correct in feeling this might be impossible as the
workers can change identity faster than you can change your
shorts.)
Recalling history in Henderson — in the 1991 timeframe, there was
a rash of cars being sprayed with acid that ate the paint. It
seemed as if the entire city was blaming the unruly kids, someone
with a reason the get even with —, and everyone was pointing the
finger in all directions. When the person was finally caught it
was a paint shop owner that was making great money repainting
cars.
You are correct in that as long as the security patrol goes around
with the lights flashing it will be a cold day in hell or a very
stupid person that gets caught. I followed the security patrol up
Anthem Parkway Thursday evening. They had the lights flashing the
whole way and looked behind every tree. They did not appear to
find anyone.
I feel certain the Henderson Police Department remembers the
previous incidents. But I do not think there are many Anthem
residents that were Henderson residents in 1991.
I also feel we might look into forming a committee to look into
what we can do — this assumes we have not done so already.
If I can be of any assistance in solving this, please contact me.

Commentary & Rant — A.K.A.
Opinion
The personnel and management of the Community
Management Association have dilly-dallied around since at least a
month before the Web site was launched on July 1, 2005. There have
been many documents approved since that time and they have yet to
be posted to the Web site as provided for in the Board accepted
Transition Committee's report. There are many residents that may
wish to read such items. Specifically, the following are missing:
- Minutes:
- Communications Committee, September 13,
2005
- Communications Committee, August 16, 2005
- Communications Committee, June 21, 2005
- Emergency Preparedness Committee, September
12, 2005
- Emergency Preparedness Committee, August 8,
2005
- Finance Committee, September 13, 2005
- Finance Committee, August 9, 2005
- Finance Committee, June 21, 2005
- Lifestyle Committee, September 9, 2005
- Lifestyle Committee, June 10, 2005
- Property & Grounds Committee, September 8,

- Property & Grounds Committee, August 11,

- Property & Grounds Committee, June 9, 2005
- Board of Directors Policy Documents
- I have heard one Board member refer to
Board Policy #7 at a Committee meeting.
Where are they, and how many are there? I really dislike
hearing someone state that some situation is "Board Policy"
without the ability to read the Policy Document referred to.
You are paying AtHomeNet for the site. You
should get your money's worth and demand that these documents be
forwarded to the Web Administrator for posting. I can understand
the current trauma in the offices, but the current situation came
about long after my continued requests for these documents and our
Community Association Manager's repeated assurances that the
situation would be corrected.
Five or six e-mail messages to the Web
Administrator with documents attached could bring us nearly up to
date.
Login to the site and send an eForm titled
Community Association Manager, Wendy Linow
demanding some action in this regard. You deserve better.
My rant for the day.
