COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM
(CERT)
COURSE SCHEDULE
NOVEMBER – DECEMBER 2005
CERT training is being offered FREE OF CHARGE to
all residents of Sun City Anthem.
Persons with physical limitations can take this course also.
The purpose is to relay information allowing individuals to help
themselves, their families and friends, during any emergency. This
is a very worthwhile course to take. The tsunami, Katrina, and
Rita, and the recent earthquakes, have shown the world the need to
be prepared.
The course contains six- four(4) hour sessions, within a month’s
time. Attending all six sessions, in order, is advisable.

Medicare Part D Seminar

Free Admission
If you are a Medicare beneficiary, you will soon
face a decision about where and how to get your prescription drug
coverage. Open enrollment for Medicare's Part D Prescription
benefit will begin November 15, 2005 and continue until May 15,
2006. A representative of the State Health Insurance Assistance
Program (SHIP) Medicare Counseling Program will be available to
describe Part D in detail and answer your questions. RSVP to

Sun City Anthem Web Site!
At the October 27 SCACAI Board of Directors meeting
the proposed budgets for Calendar Year 2006 was presented. On
November 17, 2005, there will be an Annual Membership Meeting for
ratification of the Calendar Year Budgets for the Community and
for each applicable neighborhood.
There are two presentations in PowerPoint format
available on the Community Web site for your viewing.

- Click on Miscellaneous Presentations
- Click on PowerPoint Budget CY2006.
- When you are prompted to OPEN or SAVE, choose
SAVE.
- Open the file just saved.

The
Minuteman Foundation is the
organization which provides the funding needed to support the
activities of the Community Service Club. The Foundation is a 501
(c) (3) charity.
Volunteers of the COMMUNITY
SERVICE CLUB provide free assistance to Sun City Anthem residents.
The services included are:
Transportation: To local
area medical providers or supermarkets. Three (3) business days
notice required to arrange for your ride.
Equipment: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a
wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical
equipment.
Home Maintenance: Assistance with minor home maintenance
chores such as: cleaning or replacing overhead air filters,
replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO)
detectors, or changing overhead light bulbs.
Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on
fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors.
Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription
medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.
Support Groups: CSC sponsors several support groups to
assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. These groups are:
