Medicare Part D Seminar

If you are a Medicare beneficiary, you will soon
face a decision about where and how to get your prescription drug
coverage. Open enrollment for Medicare's Part D Prescription
benefit will begin November 15, 2005 and continue until May 15,
2006. A representative of the State Health Insurance Assistance
Program (SHIP) Medicare Counseling Program will be available to
describe Part D in detail and answer your questions. RSVP to

Living “Well” with Disabilities
Guest Speaker, November 8 at 1:00 p.m.
Speech Therapist, Neils Martin,
M.A., CCC-SLP from
HealthSouth to speak on the subject of swallowing disorders and
new technology which shows promise in the treatment of dysphagia
(swallowing difficulty) associated with stroke and post-radiation
of cancer.
Neils is a certified VitaStim provider allowing him to evaluate
and treat dysphagia using this new technology. VitaStim can also
be used to develop facial muscles to increase facial symmetry.
All SCA residents are invited to come and learn about swallowing
disorders.
Neils’ presentation will be followed by door prizes and a brief
meeting. Our support group has much to offer. Please come and
see.

The
Minuteman Foundation is the
organization which provides the funding needed to support the
activities of the Community Service Club. The Foundation is a 501
(c) (3) charity.
Volunteers of the COMMUNITY
SERVICE CLUB provide free assistance to Sun City Anthem residents.
The services included are:
Transportation: To local
area medical providers or supermarkets. Three (3) business days
notice required to arrange for your ride.
Equipment: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a
wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical
equipment.
Home Maintenance: Assistance with minor home maintenance
chores such as: cleaning or replacing overhead air filters,
replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO)
detectors, or changing overhead light bulbs.
Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on
fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors.
Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription
medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.
Support Groups: CSC sponsors several support groups to
assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. These groups are:
