Henderson Police Respond
At approximately 3:30 AM, November 26, 2005, a
suspect was arrested by Henderson Police Department for cutting
trees during the night.
The suspect was seen cutting trees by a homeowner on his way home
from work. The homeowner confronted the suspect who had a hand saw
in his possession and the Police Department was called. After
investigation by Detectives the suspect was charged with violation
of NRS 206.310 “Injury to Property” and was booked into the
Henderson Jail. The suspect eventually posted bail.
Further investigation by the Sun City Anthem Security Patrol and
the Landscaping supervisor revealed that 81 trees were cut during
the night with a total value of approximately $57,170.00
Since November 2004, more than 600 trees have been cut with a
total value of approximately $300,000.00.

AARP Tax-Aide
program seeks volunteers!
The holidays are coming! What a wonderful time
of year to think about giving back to the community. AARP’s
Tax-Aide coordinators are recruiting volunteers now for our free
tax assistance service. All AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers
receive comprehensive training in cooperation with the IRS. There
is no experience required; why not call us to learn more about
getting involved?
Volunteers are asked to commit just four hours per week from early

The AARP Foundation Tax Aide program provided free tax assistance
to more than 20,000 Nevadans of all ages last year. In Nevada,

Volunteers of the COMMUNITY
SERVICE CLUB provide free assistance to Sun City Anthem residents.
The services included are:
Transportation: To local
area medical providers or supermarkets. Three (3) business days
notice required to arrange for your ride.
Equipment: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a
wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical
equipment.
Home Maintenance: Assistance with minor home maintenance
chores such as: cleaning or replacing overhead air filters,
replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO)
detectors, or changing overhead light bulbs.
Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on
fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors.
Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription
medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.
Support Groups: CSC sponsors several support groups to
assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. These groups are:
