SHOUT Update

Do you remember when that headline graced many of the Anthem Compendium newsletters?

Do you remember when the SHOUT committee collected funds in early 2004 to lobby our elected officials in a very successful campaign to relocated the then planned Heliport at the GoKart/Sloan interchange location to a location approximately three miles further south?

Do you remember the meetings in Hanneman Hall with over 1,000 attendees as the community expressed our concerns to every elected official in the area?

Do you remember the overflow crowd at the Clark County Commission's offices?

Do you remember that it took an act of Congress to make the change a reality?

Now that the President has signed the law, and no further lobbying efforts are foreseen, the SHOUT organization has turned over the remaining funds to the Sun City Anthem Community Association for use in upgrading the Community Service Building.

Arnie Snow, Community Manager said: "We can certainly make good use of this." The amount was $6,993,36!

Communication!
Communication!
Communication!

Board member David Berman has started a blog called David's Anthem Journal. The blog, which will serve as an independent channel for David to write about life in SCA and in the local area, will also allow readers to submit their own comments and opinions for others to read.

This is the link for David's Anthem Journal:

www.anthemjournal.typepad.com

If you like the blog, you can become a subscriber by entering your e-mail address in the box in the left sidebar, then clicking on the Get email updates button. After registering as a subscriber, you will receive an e-mail message whenever there is new content on the blog for you to read.

I believe this is a great tool for communication outside the confines of official Sun City Anthem media. Anyone aspiring to a position on the Sun City Anthem Board of Directors should start their blog and develop their list of recipients for distributing the news. David's caveat statement on his blog is pertinent to anyone wishing to run for the Board of Directors in the future. Remember, no candidate can send campaign messages unless the recipient has specifically subscribed for that purpose.

"PLEASE NOTE: By subscribing to (insert your blog name), you are agreeing to voluntarily accept messages that may be political in nature, including my views on life in and around Sun City Anthem. In the future, these messages may involve a campaign for reelection to the SCA Board of Directors. If at any time you wish to no longer receive such messages, feel free to visit (insert link) and unsubscribe at any time."

For communication...
