David Berman resigns!

I regret to announce that this morning (July 25) I submitted my resignation as a Director of the Sun City Anthem Community Association, Inc.

This was an extremely difficult decision for me, as I have committed heart and soul to the betterment of our community since arriving here six years ago. But I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I cannot function effectively in a governance environment in which the actions and decisions are taken by individual fiat rather than through a process of free and open sharing of ideas.

It is my considered opinion that the path this Board is taking is one in which open communication with residents is discouraged and frowned upon, rather than being encouraged. It is an environment designed to smother and even prevent disagreement, and to treat our homeowners in a patronizing and disdainful manner.

I extend my deep apologies to those who supported me in my 2005 election and who have given me so much encouragement. I hope you will not think ill of me for making this decision, and I do promise not to melt away into oblivion, but rather to redouble my efforts to be a premier source of current news, information and opinion about our community.

I will have much more to say in the days, weeks and months ahead, and I greatly look forward to working with many of you as we continue to stand for making Sun City Anthem such a wonderful place to live.

Sincerely

David Berman
