Volunteer Appreciation & Resident Q & A
October 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
Independence Center's Freedom Hall
Please plan to attend a special event next
Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall.
The Community Association and the Board is pleased to acknowledge
the many hours of dedication and service of our volunteers.
All current members of the Standing Committees will be recognized
and thanked individually for volunteering to make our community
better.
The Service Groups will be awarded certificates for all of the
things they do to improve our quality of life, our safety, and our
well-being on a daily basis.
The Communications Resident Associates will be recognized for the
work they do to keep us informed of what is happening in our
community.
Following the Volunteer Appreciation program, the Board of
Directors will open the floor to residents to ask questions of the
members of the Board about their Association.
Finally, refreshments will be served in the multi-purpose rooms at
Independence Center, Morris/Nelson/Penn Rooms. We would like to
visit with many of you at this reception following the meeting.
We hope you will join us for a fun and informative evening.

The
Minuteman Foundation is the
organization which provides the funding needed to support the
activities of the Community Service Club. The Foundation is a 501
(c) (3) charity.
The goal of the The
Minuteman Foundation is to
fund the many and diverse needs of the elderly in each and all of
our growing communities.
Pursuant thereto we have allied with the Community Service Club to
provide free assistance to SCA residents.
The services included are:
Transportation: To local
area medical providers or supermarkets. Three (3) business days
notice required to arrange for your ride.
Equipment: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a
wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical
equipment.
Home Maintenance: Assistance with minor home maintenance
chores such as: cleaning or replacing overhead air filters,
replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO)
detectors, or changing overhead light bulbs.
Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on
fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors.
Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription
medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.
Support Groups: CSC sponsors several support groups to
assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. These groups are:
