    4. Enforcement Department –
      Case 20-06, Violation of CC&R Article II & III, age Restriction, as Amended, and Article 4(d) of the SCA Rules and Regulations, Renter-Lease of a Unit. - Hearing panel recommends initial fine of $100.00 be assessed on 12/4/06 and if not cured then on 12/11/06 a continuing violation fine of $100.00 every seven days until cured.
      Case #21-06, CC&R, Article 5.1, Maintenance of Lot Violation. Hearing panel recommends initial fine of $100.00 be assessed on 12/4/06 and if not cured then on 12/11/06 a continuing violation fine of $100.00 every seven days until cured.
      Case #22-06, CC&R, Article 5.1, Maintenance of Lot Violation. Hearing panel recommends initial fine of $100.00 be assessed on 1/1/07 and if not cured then on 1/15/07 a continuing violation fine of $100.00 every seven days until cured (more time is given on this one before the fines start to allow the homeowner to continue their efforts to bring the property into compliance)
    5. Property and Grounds Committee: Approve Carl Weinstein as Chairperson of the Property and Grounds Committee effective January 2007.

    6. Finance Committee: Approve Don Manning as Chairperson of the Finance Committee for 2007. Extend the term of Jack Troia as a member of the Finance Committee for one year.

    7. Accept the 2006 Diversified Facility Services, Inc. Reserve Report.

    8. Authorize an Updated Reserve Study without Site Visit to be performed by Diversified Facility Services, Inc. in 2008.

    15. Charge for copies – It is recommended that the cost for making copies be established at $.25 per page. NRS116.31177 2. states: . . .The executive board may charge a fee to cover the actual costs of preparing a copy, but not to exceed 25 cents per page.

    16. Appoint the following for a two-year term on the Election Committee commencing January 1, 2007: Jan Hockenberg, Sandy Howard and Philip Barad.
      Recommendation: Approve
    17. Appoint Joyce Servello as the Interim Vice Chairperson of the Covenants Committee. Commencing January 1, 2007 the majority of the Covenants Committee will be newly appointed members of the Committee. During the first quarter of 2007 the Committee will select a Chairperson and the name will then be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.

    18. Reappoint BJ Bonak, Barbara Stevenson, Les Norman and Len Chapman for a second two-year term on the Lifestyle Committee.

    19. Approve the By-Laws for the Arts and Crafts Club; Anthem Authors; Billiards Club; How Too,
      Can Do Club; Opera Lovers Club; Pan Club; Sun City Anthem Women’s Golf Club; as recom-
      mended by the Lifestyle Committee.

    20. Approve the $1.00 fee for Catered Events and Pot Lucks as recommended by the Lifestyle
      Committee

    21. Approve the Room Rental Rates as recommended by the Lifestyle Committee

      Budget: Blinds for the Fitness Center in Independence Center in the amount of $14,950.

    1. Renewal of Management Agreement with RMI Management, LLC. The current contract with RMI Management, LLC will expire on February 1, 2007. The new contract includes changes from $2.50 per rooftop to $2.63 per rooftop and the chares for duplexes to change from $1.00 to $1.05.

    2. Information Center: Committee Report
    3. Reimburse expenses for costs relating to shelving and cabinetry at Independence Center to the Woodchips Club in the amount of $4,850.

Medicare Part D Drug Plan Consultation

Announcing a service to Sun City Anthem Residents who have not yet chosen a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan, or wish to change their current plan.

The Sun City Anthem Computer Club has arranged for interested members and others in the community to have a one-on-one consultation with a Medicare Part D counselor from The Nevada State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).

Medicare Part D counselors have agreed to be available on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the COMPUTER CLUB LAB in the Anthem Center. Counselors will be available to answer your questions and by using the Medicare website to find the best plan for your particular needs and enroll you in such a plan if you so choose.

  • Your Medicare card
  • A list of all the medications you are taking including the dosage of each and how often you take each drug

The choice is yours as to whether to sign up or not, but, depending on your drug usage, you may be able to save $1000 or more each year with the right Medicare Part D program for you.

(NOTE: HMO members should not attempt to sign up for a separate Part D program without consulting their HMO first.)

The Minuteman Foundation is the organization which provides the funding needed to support the activities of the Community Service Club. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charity.

The goal of The Minuteman Foundation is to fund the many and diverse needs of the elderly in each and all of our growing communities.

Pursuant thereto we have allied with the Community Service Club to provide free assistance to SCA residents. The services included are:

Transportation:
To local area medical providers or supermarkets. Three (3) business days notice required to arrange for your ride.

Equipment: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical equipment.

Home Maintenance: Assistance with minor home maintenance chores such as: cleaning or replacing overhead air filters, replacing batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors, or changing overhead light bulbs.

Home Assistance: Resource Directory of information on fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors. Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription medication to residents who are temporarily homebound.

Support Groups: CSC sponsors several support groups to assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. These groups are:

  • Living “Well” with Disabilities (physical mobility)
    2nd Tuesday, 1—2:30 p.m., Anthem Center

  • Alzheimer’s Caregivers
    3rd Monday, 6:30—8:30 p.m., Former Sewing Room

  • Bereavement — please call 614-5862 for information.

  • One on one guidance through Jewish bereavement protocol

  • One on one grief counseling for loss of a child

  • Friends of Bill W. Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous -
    Every Monday, 7 p.m., Independence Center.

  • Home Caregivers (for those caring for a loved one at home)
    3rd Monday 1:30—2:30 p.m. Anthem Center.
